vhshitfest asked: yeah, facebook works well for those without a tumblr or who don't like to check any sites besides facebook, lol. for a while we had a little trouble getting noticed (not that we really are now), but what i did was i had as many people as i could promote us on facebook, then i would search for movies we review on tumblr (or movies similar) and follow them and hope they'd follow us back. most of the time they don't, but sometimes they do and enjoy us. and besides that we have a 'zine here where we promoted it and tell all our friends. but we are always looking for more people to read. we could do a review of the same movie, but we aren't sure from day to day what movie we will do next. we just pick from our collection and what we are in the mood for. we could also make posts about each other on our sites/facebooks. if you give us a picture of an ad for your site we can post it and tell people to go check it out. and then on facebook we can add you to our favorite pages and make a post about it as long as you want to and are willing to do the same. one other blog posted about us http://fuckyeahhvhs.tumblr.com/post/2625346274/vhshitfest and you could just use that picture and write something similar and we'd do the same. and maybe every once in a while we could cross promote or when we know ahead of time we are going to review something we could tell you and see if you have it, then both do it. just let me know. anything to help a fellow lover of terrible movies.

yeah i would do some cross promotion with you. the banner off my website would be fine the one tagged best and worst of (mostly) b-movies.
I find I run into a similar problem of the movies i review are basically chosen that day.
im currently in the process of building my dvd aficionado list, once I am finished you can compare against your permanent collection. maybe we have some overlap.
I’ll definitely throw a link up to your site and FB page on my group.
in appreciation of bad cinema,
Zack

Hey folks. Wanted to give you the new URL to 100 Nights: http://100nights.org

It’s new! and might be improved!

Zombie Strippers

Jeff and Sara hosted another great movie night. Bad movies really are best enjoyed with the company of others. We watched three more last Thursday and it looks like it will be repeated this upcoming Thursday (even if i didn’t watch any on my own I would hit 9 just from planned movie nights (this could prove to be a good review month)). Those films being Zombie Strippers, Dr. Hackenstein, and Kung Fu Rascals.

The reason I chose this one first is because I wanted to do some comparisons between it and Death Race 2000 (which i am in the terrible habit of calling Death Race, which is of course a different film entirely).

The Synopsis: An infect soldier ends up in an unlicensed strip club. Naked zombies ensue.

Death Race 2000

Hey folks, trying to get December off to a good start. I have movie night with Jeff and Sara tonight (and possibly Drew), but I am on campus, with a 4 hour gap between classes. This lead to the very obvious choice of watch a movie that I have saved on my laptop for just such an occasion. I have now watched 3 of the 5 so I will need to put some new movies on here for future events such as these will effect me in the future. I have been promising to do Death Race since the beginning of Nov, so this was an obvious choice. I forgot my headphones so i wasn’t able to make out some of the dialogue very clearly, and I feel like there were some social commentary things that I missed because of it.

The Synopsis: The fascist government of the United Provinces of America gets together five racers to be part of the bread and circuses. The Transcontinental Race ensues.

Hellbound: Hellraiser II

I wasn’t sure I was going to do another tonight, but after that last review where I spent about half of it ranting, I figured I should. So I decided to watch the sequel to Hellraiser.

The Synopsis: Kirsty is sent to a mental hospital. Cenobites ensue.

Tokyo Gore Police

Holy Shit, two reviews!?

I know its crazy, but I figure if i can get up to 8 for the month (and that might be a little ambitious), that would put me at 21 over two months, and on average that would have met my goal. i will really try and work on having  a more regular reviewing schedule in the coming months.

So goals for December: 1) Do at least 1 review a week (ideally 2)

2) Keep up movie night with my friends since that was half of my goal with this anyways.

3) Migrate this to an architecture I like better. Tumblr was fun for quick and dirty try out, but I think that I can do better for this project, and I feel like if the next month goes well it will be time to upgrade.

The Synopsis: Ruka is a specially trained police officer who kills mutants called Engineers. Massive amounts of gore ensues.

Tank Girl

Hey folks,

I am really trying to keep a good pace to finish out the month. I know I haven’t done a great job this month. Next one looks to be better, as I will be out of school for most of next month. Once more I am review a film that is not horror, but definitely is B. I rented this once a long time ago on a lark, and it has sort of just stuck with me since. So here we go.

The Synopsis: A girl and her tank fight with a British person and his evil corporation. Insanity ensues.

ThanksKilling

Hey folks, this one should have posted on thursday but it didnt. Not because i had written and it didnt post, but because I had no access to the internet for four days and decided it was more in my interest to visit with the family than watch bad films (though I wish I had been able to do both). I am a little sad that no one fell for my fake ThanksKilling review, or if they did no one said anything about it.

The Synopsis: A group of teens are trying to get home for thanksgiving. Killer turkey puppet ensues.

5ive Girls

Hey folks. I’m amazed also. Two reviews in one week!? I better not be setting any precedent. I have one more to do from the last movie night. A really special one just for thanksgiving. I am also going to DC tomorrow to see my aunt, uncle, and grandma. I should have at least modicums of access so I can post the final movie night review from there. I also hope during my trip to watch one or two for review. I have 5 currently on my jump drive. So without further ado, 5ive Girls (which was frequently called five ive girls)

The Synopsis: 5 girls are sent to a Catholic reform school. Demonic possession ensues.
